The Stewardship Team is seeking your comments about the five week Kimberley United Church Stewardship Program.
You will recall that it began with a letter from Christine which included the “Narrative Budget” illustrating how KUC provides for our different ministries in our church community. At the “Welcome Back Sunday” on September 15, name tags were presented as you entered for worship. That Sunday Christine introduced the five-week theme from the United Church Creed and each week focused on a line from:
We are called to be the Church: to celebrate God's presence, to live with respect in Creation, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope.
Christine read a letter from The Rt. Rev. Gary Paterson, Moderator of the United Church that he sent to KUC Congregation wishing us success in this campaign. (During the campaign “Stewardship Messages” were given instead of Joyce’s “Minute for Mission.”)
The Pastoral Care Committee hosted a luncheon following Worship and a slide show recapped the many activities from the year.
Week Two included a letter from Graham challenging us to re-evaluate our givings and consider moving up a step on the “Staircase of Giving”. Jody presented the Stewardship Message on Sunday.
Week Three introduced the “Estimation of Givings” card asking you to consider the level of both your financial and your “time” contribution to support the ministries of KUC in 2014. Jim and Graham presented a dramatic dialogue as the Stewardship Message.
In Week Four Barbara issued a letter introducing the PAR brochure; Rev. George Meier was our guest preacher and Graham presented the Stewardship Message.
Week Five was our Celebration Sunday (which corresponded with Thanksgiving Sunday) and we had David Armour, Director of Philanthropy for the United Church of Canada as our guest preacher. The Stewardship Team sponsored a catered luncheon attended by 40 members of our community to celebrate our great efforts to support the ministries of Kimberley United Church and Jody presented a slideshow of these ministries.
The Stewardship Team extends our sincere thanks to all who participated in our five week Stewardship Program. Your response to our information request cards and attendance at our October Celebrate Stewardship lunch was very gratifying to us.
We would greatly appreciate your feedback about our Stewardship Program activities as we would like to know how it was received. This will help in developing future stewardship programs. Upon submission your response will go to the Stewardship Team and will inform their evaluation of the 2013 Stewardship Program. Because it is submitted from our church website it is an anonymous response. If you wish to identify your submission type your name in the last comment box.
