BC Conference 2015: May 27-31

When: May 28-31, 2015

Where: Whistler Conference Centre in Whistler, BC

Theme: “Leading From the Heart”

This year our general meeting of BC Conference is going to spend time reflecting on what it means to lead in these new and interesting times for the church. I hope that through worship, discussion, listening to each other as we report on the work of the Conference over the last year, and in fellowship around the table we might explore together what to Leading from the Heart means for us all.

The theme and worship team have been asked to work with this concept and they have created something that I know will be beautiful and life giving for us all. Jim Hannah their leader says:
“We recognize that we live in challenging times, both as part of the United Church of Canada and as citizens of a hurting world and fragile planet. In this context, leadership, both clergy and lay, becomes increasingly more central to encourage a new vitality as spirit-filled communities grounded in the God-presence with the courage to be the hands, feet and voice of Christ in our world.”

Therefore I invite you to join us to bring soul to Whistler to meet and work with other souls struggling with the future and who are yet willing to listen for God in the midst of all the noise, and take a risk and let your heart meet the hearts of others.

Rev Karen Medland President of BC Conference.
