With Christine’s announcement of her retirement on June 30, 2015, Council has undertaken the process of calling a new minister.
With all the changes happening within the United Church of Canada and BC Conference, the process no longer involves the familiar Joint Needs Assessment Committee (JNAC) but one now referred to as Ministry Profile and Search Committee (MPS) which, through consultation with our congregation and community develops a MPS Report (MPSR).
When the MPSR is complete and ready to be reviewed by the congregation for approval, a special congregation meeting is required. Two weeks notice of this meeting is required. Sunday, March 21, Graham Smith made the first announcement for this Special Congregational Meeting to be held Tuesday, March 31 at 7:00 pm.
In preparation for this meeting please review the proposed MPSR available online here : KUC MPSR 2015
After approval of the MPSR by the congregation and BC Conference, BC Conference will declare a vacancy for Kimberley United Church and the search for a new minister will begin.
Any questions or comments about the process or MPSR can be directed to the MPS Committee members: Jim Andrews, Diana Semenchuk, Graham Smith, Sheila McDonald, and Ruth Goodwin.
